Best Food in Singapore
You know what they say about Singaporean food? Oh if you haven’t tried it, get ready for a plate packed with that sizzling Asian flavour! We tried to pick the best 3, although it was exceptionally difficult seeing as there are tonnes of dishes to pick from so please let us know if you enjoyed our choices!
1. Chili Crabs Oh the famous Singaporean chili crab! You can never step foot into Lion City without enjoying a full stomach of this fiery goodness. This dish is best served with a side of fried buns that are meant to be dipped into the slurpy sauce.
Red House Seafood Restaurant: 68 Prinsep Street, Singapore 188661
2. Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup)
This dish easily explains what comfort food is to Singaporeans. What started as leftover pork bones, soon evolved into a dish that most can’t say no to. Get ready to add a little spice to your life with this soupy dish; it may be a little strong to some but for others this flavoured herbal soup is an all-time favourite.
Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh: 7 Keppel Road, #01-05/07, PSA Tanjong Pagar Complex, Singapore 089053 (closed on Mon)
3. Chicken Rice
No Singaporean food stall is complete without good ol’ Chicken Rice! You can opt for steamed or roasted chicken, as both pair perfectly with the serving of chicken rice that oozes the scent of pandan. Trust us, it tastes better than it sounds.
If shopping is your forte, Singapore offers a range of locations from high end to budget malls. You will be surprised by the amount of shopping malls this small island holds, but a lot of people head over to Lion City with the aim of shopping till they drop.
Known for being one of the best shopping malls in Asia, VivoCity doesn’t sell itself short at all! This megamall is located on the Harbour Front and hosts an amphitheater, 4 food courts, Singapore’s largest cinema, rooftop skypark and a wading pool. It features 7 floors that consist of a variety of shopping outlets that provide each shopper with what they need in one spot.

2. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands If you’re looking for more than just shopping, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands features art and architecture at its finest. This mall boasts some of the most exclusive fashion labels and offers visitors a range of food options. Don’t forget to head outside towards the bay to snap amazing photos of Lion City’s most prestigious area.

3. Orchard Road
We have to include this entire road as it includes a combination of various shopping malls and is the one area you can go to for everything you need. About 2.2 kilometres long, Orchard Road is home to local and international restaurants that are sprawled across both sides of this popular shopping district. Don’t forget to tip your favourite busker during the weekends :)
1. Gardens by the Bay
This is where nature meets modernity – Gardens by the Bay showcases a futuristic environment where you’ll be able to enjoy plants from all over the world that would not naturally grow in Singapore’s humid weather. There are many areas that you can explore and enjoy around this botanical oasis. Head over for a picnic during the day or wine and dine amongst the beautiful supertrees while enjoying the perfect night sky.
18 Arina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953
2. Sentosa Island
If you’re headed to Singapore, Sentosa Island is not one to be missed. Book a hotel there before enjoying a day or two on the beach, at the Underwater World aquarium, Universal Studios Singapore, the Merlion and more! Sundays are the best time to head over to Tanjong Beach Club for some chill beach vibes and drinks on Singapore’s lovely little man made island.
3. Night Safari
Singapore’s night safari houses some of the world’s endangered nocturnal animals and although it can be slightly difficult to spot these critters in the dark, when you do see one – it’s worth the find! If normal zoos are too mainstream for you, this is definitely something different!
